When Michael’s mom turned a milestone birthday in mid-2013, Michael wanted to give her a special gift. And, what better gift than the gift of travel?
Two months ago today I walked out of my office for the last time. Two weeks from today I will be in South Africa kicking off a new adventure. Today I’m grateful for that journey and looking forward to the next. Bring it!
It’s official. The dream is coming to fruition – we will be taking a year off to travel! We’ve been discussing and deliberating this for what seems like forever. And now it is officially going to happen.
December 28, 2012 – January 1, 2013: Michael and I booked, on December 16th, a last minute trip to Austin, Texas for New Years Eve.
April 1 – 11, 2012: My trip to the beautiful country of Cuba was a success (if we exclude the death of the family dog).
My non-American friends think it is a bit odd that, as an American, I can’t travel to Cuba. I think so too. I’ve been told it is a lovely country and, perhaps amplified by the fact that Cuba is off-limits, I’d like to visit. So, I’m going to go to Cuba!
December 30, 2011 – January 2, 2012: Michael and I booked, on December 19th, a last minute trip to Savannah, Georgia for New Years Eve.
