September 30 – October 2, 2014: After completing the Glacier Skywalk at Athabasca Glacier, we continued north on the Icefields Parkway towards Jasper with stops along the way at various viewpoints – Tangle Falls, Sunwapta Falls (Sunwapta is another glacier in the area), Mount Kerkeslin and Athabasca Falls.
September 29 – 30, 2014: If there was any question in our minds about whether to continue north towards Jasper National Park, the stunning scenery in Lake Louise made up our minds to keep going.
September 28 – 29, 2014: We set out to explore Lake Louise and Lake Moraine only to find out that the road to Lake Moraine was closed. We headed on to Lake Louise and, upon arriving, quickly realized what all the hype was about. The lake had absolutely stunning opaque turquoise water.
September 26 – 27, 2014: About an hour north of Canmore is Banff National Park. Banff National Park was the first national park to be established in Canada and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
September 24 – 25, 2014: Canmore will hold a special place in my heart. It was our first Canadian mountain town and it was lovely.
