October 14 – 17, 2014: Departing Mount St. Helens and the Ape Caves, we headed to the Columbia River Gorge area. The Columbia River Gorge is the largest scenic area in the United States, extending more than 100 miles east of Portland, and consists of a very diverse landscape carving a canyon between Washington and Oregon
October 13 – 14, 2014: We chose Mount St. Helens over Mount Rainer and are glad we did.
October 11 – 13, 2014: I really was disappointed that we didn’t get out to Vancouver Island and the San Juan Islands, however, the weather conditions combined with the unexpected amount of time already spent in Canada pushed us back into the United States.

Two months ago today I walked out of my office for the last time. Two weeks from today I will be in South Africa kicking off a new adventure. Today I’m grateful for that journey and looking forward to the next. Bring it!
