Grateful for the Journey Ahead

Two months ago today I walked out of my office for the last time. Two weeks from today I will be in South Africa kicking off a new adventure. Today I’m grateful for that journey and looking forward to the next. Bring it!

The Tarn Shelf in Mount Field National Park, Tasmania, is an absolutely epic day hike with sprawling views, alpine lakes and tarns, and amazing stands of snow gum and pandani. This was a nice day out and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore was our las

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore was our last major non-city stop on our recent trip around the Great Lakes region. We had visited a couple other dune/beachy areas on this trip and expected more of the same, but we were pleasantly surprised by the diversity of landscape here. The large dunes are definitely a highlight, but the forested campgrounds, cute downtown area, historic farms, and scenic drives make this park a real destination. And we got there in time to check out the annual salmon run along the Platte River, a fun sight to behold.
